Located on the northern part of Sarawak, this coastal town is well known for it’s Liquefied Natural Gas industry. To get there, one can either fly in from Kuala Lumpur or Kuching. Temporary home to many ex-patriot, the town very used to serve visitors in term of language, accommodation and food.

Diving in Bintulu is fun as it is not commercialized at all. Every part has to be pre-arranged and there is only one PADI instructor to do so. Reef diving, deep diving and night diving can offer an adventurous experience.

Reef and night diving can be done in a day at Patricia Reef which is a natural reef estimated at 800m by 600m in size. At the centre part, hard corals are home to many reef fish with a depth of only 14m average.

While deep diving are done near oil rigs which is off limits in actual fact but we done it a couple times. I love to watch the barracudas and jacks at 10m circling us from a distance. Though the huge potato cods at the bottom of 32m can sometime be a bit scary, it is worth while the adrenaline rush.
