Big Surprise

For the last two years, I have been to Kota Kinabalu every February hoping to see the annual whale shark visit but I never imagine my encounter with it would be at my own backyard.

 

It was very friendly for a fish that measures about 3-4 metres in length and we believe it was still young. Kind of difficult to take pictures of it as it kept heading towards me and the visibility was not good. Though it was only a few minutes before it went away, the moment will remain for a long time like the encounter with the Manta Ray 2 years back.

 

Thanks to Wee Kim Hua (below), we not only capture images of the magnificent creature underwater but also from surface.

For Graham, the blueberry cheese cake was not the only surprise. The whale shark is definitely a bigger one.

This was definitely a good trip. Foo, Alex and Jacqueline were enjoying themselves taking pictures of macro life which was plenty on that day.
