Limo Exploration Batu means Rock in local language. 25/08/2007 Sematan
We were almost disappointed when my usual boat has to be cancelled last minute due to some family emergency but a twist of luck, when we met a guy in town with a boat who was willing to take us there.
On the way to the reef, we tried to get as much information as possible of how the topography of the reef might be. The first dive was from the supposed to be outer end.
Visibility was not very good due to the close proximity to shore but my feeling change once the reef was in sight. From the sandy bottom to the top part is about 5m with maximum depth of 9m during high tide. Mostly sponges, whips and algae grow on the rough surface. The boulder extend far with some separation like walking down India Street with small allies leading to the other side.
They were plenty of marine life there including parrotfish, fusiliers, angelfish, butterflyfish, grouper, boxfish and jacks. The most obvious would be the feather starfish which comes in many type of colour combination.
There were supposed to be lobster everyway according to some but I only notice a handful, maybe it was not the season yet.
What took my attention was the macro life. As you can see from the pictures, I was enjoying myself taking pictures of nudibranch feeding on sponge.

After waiting for an hour for the tide to come, we started to give the boat a push into deeper water. |

It was a bit cramp to set up our gear. |
